Evangelism

“Have you no wish for others to be saved? [if not] then you’re not saved yourself, be sure of that!”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon

While evangelism is about sharing your faith in Christ, evangelism is more than a speech; it is an expression of how passionate we are about our father. As Christians we must realize we do not need to have the title of evangelist (a sharer of faith) to evangelize. We evangelize because we want to share the good news. Express passion for God Almighty! For we did not know him, but he adopted us because of Christ and therefore we are made co-heirs. “Every Christian is either a missionary or an imposter” (Charles Spurgeon); what this implies is, if we claim we are Christian, we need to understand all Christians are evangelist and we are called to evangelize. The great commission in Matthew 28:19-20 clearly tells us that we must go out and make disciples of all nations. Jesus has given his command that we must imitate him, because he came in flesh to show us that we are able to accomplish these things. Since we are co-heirs with Christ, we get the opportunity to spread the word to glorify God. Keep in mind, people tend to think we need to take 30 minutes to an hour to speak to someone about God, however, in reality, most of the time we are not granted 30 minutes to express God’s word. We need to learn that sometimes sharing your faith can be expressed in about one minute. Let us pick up our cross and share the goodness of God.
